Public
Our practice in the public finance area is extensive.  We have acted as bond and disclosure counsel on numerous multi-million dollar bond transactions involving public agency and government issuers on the state and local levels. 


Business Entity
We have a comprehensive practice in forming business entities using all the forms of organization available to businesses such as corporations, limited liability companies and others.  We represent public and private clients in the organizational development of such entities, and we are well versed in both simple and complex transactions.  We provide expeditious business solutions in a fast paced business environment.


Banking & Financial Institution
We represent and advise banks and other financial institutions on issues of commercial law and regulatory compliance.  We advised and represented persons forming what was, at the time, the sole trust company organized under Alaska law to take advantage of the repeal of the rule against perpetuities and other legislation providing for asset protection trusts. We provide ongoing advice and representation in matters of compliance with Alaska law. 


Business & Real Estate
Our practice in the business law area involves representing Native and other corporations as well as other for-profit and nonprofit organizations.  We recognize the importance of the ethical responsibility business leaders have toward partners, shareholders and the general public, and we can respond to such concerns or eliminate them before they occur.  We understand the nuances of organization and reorganization and the intricacies of complex securities law.  As a client requires advice on merger and acquisition, we are well equipped to provide it.  We advise and represent clients on a wide range of property issues inculding complex multi-party real estate transactions.  We are aware of the emerging and ever increasing role nonprofits are playing in the contemporary business landscape.  We stand ready to serve needs of our clients in these areas of business law and real estate.


Labor & Employment
Our practice in this area has included acting as general and special counsel to large institutional clients on state and local levels.  We also focus on collective bargaining issues, and we negotiate collective bargaining arrangements.  We are focused on the multitude of employment issues in the public and private sector confronting employers and employees in the American workplace.


Litigation
Our practice in this area has included providing comprehensive litigation services in administrative and judicial forums.  We present cases to all levels of the Alaska Court System and the federal courts and before administrative agencies.  We also represent administrative agencies in these forums.  We provide advice regarding administrative and judicial procedures to represent the best interests of our clients in an efficient and economic fashion.


Municipal Law
We provide prompt answers to complex municipal law issues.  We represent cities, boroughs and unified municipalities in all facets of the ever changing menu of issues confronting municipalities in the contemporary business and policy environment.  We understand the importance of the role of process in municipal practice.  This awareness, coupled with a thorough understanding of the substantive attributes of municipal law issues enables us to provide our clients with a thorough analytical framework to work through the constitutional, statuatory and common law guidance affecting local governments on a regular basis.  We are sensitive to the need for the public’s confidence in its municipal officials and institutions.  With that objective in mind, we can assist municipalities in navigating the complex and technical aspects of ethics and conflicts of interest that are so critical to ensuring that municipal objectives are met in an efficient, economic and comprehensive fashion so that  the public may be confident that the integrity of the process has not been compromised.


Regulatory & Governmental Affairs
We represent institutional clients on the federal, state and local agency level.  We represent state and local boards and commissions, educational institutions and utilities, as well as individuals, before such bodies.  We regularly serve as general and special counsel for public and private institutions.  We understand the constitutional guidelines, statutory requirements and specific rules associated with various federal, state and local boards and commissions.  We continue to serve in governmental and community leadership roles that keep us in theforefront of issues important to all Alaskans.
